About Us

Since 1876

We’re Cardiff RFC! We are the first Welsh rugby club to be founded, and we’ve been going strong ever since. In this post, we will give you a little insight into our history, as well as some of the ways that you can join us for the journey.

– We were founded in 1876 and we play our games at the Cardiff Arms Park. This is also where Wales national team plays its home matches!

– The club has won more than 30 championships, which places us third on the all time list of champions.

– It’s not just about rugby though – Cardiff RFC offer an extensive variety of sports for members to enjoy: cricket, football, hockey and basketball—among many others! You can find out more information about these by checking out the Tickets and Merchandise. Feel free to email them with any questions as well ([email protected]). Membership fees are £20 per month; however there are discounts available if you’re a student or under 18.

– We’re also very active in the community, and have been working with Cardiff Council to organise events for families to come together (such as food festivals) and give back to those less fortunate than ourselves. If you would like more information on this, feel free to contact.

Blogs can be updated at any time by publishing new blog entries; please remember that entry content is unlimited so there’s no need to worry about space! You can find out how often posts are published on our FAQs page within the Membership section of our website. Thanks again for your interest in Cardiff RFC – we hope that you’ll join us soon!

We’re proud to be a founding member of the Welsh Rugby Union, and we were also one of three clubs that formed this particular league (the WRU).

– The team colours are blue – which was chosen because it’s representative of the Prince of Wales’ family.

It has been claimed by some people that Cardiff RFC is among the oldest rugby clubs in the world; while there isn’t any definitive evidence for this, they do have records from 1876 so we can say with certainty that they’ve existed since at least then! To put this into context, both Scotland and Ireland had just founded their national teams around 1860 as well. Definitely something worth being proud about!

– Many players who helped found Cardiff back in 1876, including their first captain, later became influential figures in Welsh rugby.

– The club was originally based at Sophia Gardens before moving to Cardiff Arms Park – which is still our home today! This move happened due to the growth of the city and a need for more space so that spectators could watch matches comfortably.

All you need to know about Cardiff RFC

– The club has a proud history that goes back to 1876.

– They were originally based at Sophia Gardens before moving to the current home of Cardiff Arms Park. This happened due to growth in the city and an increase in spectators, who needed more space for matches.

The team’s recent success is something worth celebrating! With promotion being secured last season after a near perfect league campaign, we can look forward with optimism and hope that this year will be as successful – or even better than last season! There are many players from different backgrounds on our squad which means there’s plenty of talent emerging too so it should make for some exciting rugby over these coming months!”
